One of the biggest complaints that most consumers have about smart phones is that, as phenomenal as the technology behind them happens to be, one wrong move around water and their expensive gadget becomes a worthless piece of plastic and metal. A very expensive worthless piece of plastic and metal.
Samsung however is about to change that when they reveal one of the variants of their flagship smartphone, the Galaxy, in its new release the Galaxy S5 Active.
The new Galaxy S5 will also come in a number of other variants including the Zoom and the Mini. As of now there aren’t a lot of specifics about the new phone but speculations are that it’s going to be quite a bit more rugged than the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. It’s assumed that when the Galaxy S5 Zoom and S5 Mini are released, the Active will be released alongside of them, equipped with mobile ID apps.
The Mini is purported to come with a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED HD 720 display, but at this point there’s been no confirmation of whether it will have the fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor that the Galaxy comes with now.
Recently Samsung sent out invitations to a media event on April 29 that’s expected to see the Galaxy S5 unveiled. It’s going to be called “Kapture the Moment”, leading some to believe that the new release might actually be named the Galaxy K instead.
Other reports focus on the Galaxy S5 Zoom and have indicated that the device will run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, will come with a 4.8 display, a 1.3 GHz core CPU from Samsung Exynos 5 Hexa and 720×1280 pixel resolution as well as a Mali-T624 GPU.
We’re hoping that, for all of our readers that are really into technology, everything that we just talked about made sense. All we’re really interested in is the fact that the new Galaxy S5 will still work after we let it fall into the toilet, get pushed into the pool this summer or accidentally knock a drink over on it.
